Approximately 92% of adults age 20 to 64 have experienced a cavity. Cavities occur as a result of tooth decay and, if left untreated, can severely damage teeth and lead to a decline in oral health. Though cavities are common, they are also easily fixed using a common restorative treatment called a filling.
A filling seals the hole caused by a cavity, preventing decay from spreading to the rest of the tooth and eventually into its root. Our experienced dental care providers know how to quickly, easily, and comfortably remove decay from a tooth before it progresses. We then use fillings made of metal, which appear either silver or gold, or tooth-colored fillings made of porcelain or composite material that bond with the tooth to give it a more natural look.
Shortly after receiving a filling, you’ll be able to eat, speak, brush, and floss as usual. To prevent future decay and cavities, we will work with you to create a dental plan that includes regular checkups and cleanings, and we will provide you with specific instructions for the best at-home oral care practices.
